Checked October 30-31, 2026. Prices, features and safety rules come from each vendor's site and docs. I also connected Meta's official server and read the tool descriptions it hands to the assistant.
The short version: one or two accounts, Facebook and Instagram only? Start with Meta's official MCP. It's from Meta and I found no pricing for it. Running Meta Ads for many clients, usually next to Google Ads, and you want a before/after preview, an approval step and one-step undo? That's what we built AdSparky for, and it's our pick for agencies and freelancers. Free beta, no card: adsparky.com.
AdSparky is our product - I'm the founder, so every claim about another tool links to its source, and I say where AdSparky falls short.

What a Meta Ads MCP server is#
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard that lets an assistant like Claude or ChatGPT use outside tools. A Meta Ads MCP server hands the assistant tools like "get campaign results", "list ad sets", "change budget", "pause ad". You write in plain English, the assistant picks the tool, the server calls Meta's Marketing API.
Here's the thing most lists skip: every server uses the same Meta API, so "can the AI do it" is rarely the difference. The difference is what happens between your sentence and the change on a client's account. Do you see a preview? Does a human have to approve? Can you undo it? Can the tool delete a campaign?
How I compared them#
I didn't test every tool on client accounts. I checked sites, pricing and docs on October 30-31, 2026, and connected Meta's official server. Six criteria: platforms, writes, safety (preview, approval, undo, delete), public price, which AI clients it works in, and whether it's usable across a dozen-plus accounts. If I couldn't find something on the vendor's site, I say so.
The tools, one by one#
1. AdSparky - our pick for agencies running Meta + Google#
What it does: a remote MCP server with a web panel that connects Meta Ads and Google Ads (plus GA4, Google Tag Manager, Merchant Center and the client's site via a WordPress plugin) to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex. Over 300 tools, from reports and audits to building campaigns, Meta lead forms and creatives. Runs in the browser, no terminal.
Safety, which is the whole point:
- Dry run, before/after preview, human approval on every change - in chat or in the panel's approval queue.
- Never deletes, only pauses. New campaigns are created paused.
- Change history with author, source and reason; undo is usually one step.
- Per-client limits (max budget, untouchable campaigns) that the AI can only tighten from chat. Max +30% / -50% budget change per operation.
Agency workflow: a morning review across all clients with the fires on top, client memory (what's a lead, what's off-limits), goals like max CPA, team roles, PDF client reports, alerts. Numbers come from the API, not the model's memory.
Data: EU hosting (Ireland and Frankfurt), encrypted keys, agency data separated, no training on your data.
Price: free beta, no card; pricing announced before the beta ends. You need your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription.
To be fair: it's a beta and it's Google Ads and Meta Ads only for now.
2. Official Meta Ads MCP (Meta ads AI connectors)#
Meta runs its own MCP server at mcp.facebook.com/ads. Per ppc.land it launched as an open beta on April 29, 2026 together with a CLI; on July 16, 2026 Meta opened it to any developer with their own Meta app.
What it does: the docs group tools into seven areas: reporting, creating and managing ads, product catalogs, signals and datasets (e.g. Conversions API), help, A/B tests and lift studies, and the account activity log. Jon Loomer counted "nearly 100" tools in August.
Safety: in the tool descriptions I got after connecting, new campaigns are created paused and draft mode was on - changes went to a draft in Ads Manager and only went live after publishing. But the edit tool accepts a DELETED status, and its own description warns that's permanent. Meta also has "MCP server rules" per ad account: block campaign creation, targeting, creative or status changes, or cap budget changes (the docs' example blocks raises over 20%). The docs say the rules are in "limited availability".
Price: I found no pricing on Meta's pages.
Pros: straight from Meta, wide scope (catalogs, signals, tests), drafts and blocking rules.
Cons: Meta only. I didn't find AI change history with one-step undo or client memory in the docs. Tools roll out gradually, so the set can differ by account.
Deep dive: Official Meta Ads MCP - is it enough for agencies?
3. Pipeboard#
What it does: hosted MCP servers for Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snap and Reddit. Per its GitHub README, the Meta server has 42 tools and the whole family "230+". The Meta server code is source-available under Business Source License 1.1.
Safety: declares "explicit confirmation on every write" and that new campaigns start paused. I found no delete tool in the README and no undo described on the site. Read-only and account-scoped tokens are on paid plans.
Price: free plan (2 ad accounts, 30 AI tool calls a week), paid tiers with 3, 10 and 25 account slots plus extra slots. The page localizes currency (it showed PLN from Poland), so check it for your region.
Head-to-head: Pipeboard alternative.
4. Madgicx MCP#
What it does: an MCP server tied to your Madgicx account. Per Madgicx Academy, 49 tools: 22 read, 27 write (pause/resume, budgets, bids, spend limits, renaming). Creating and duplicating campaigns is listed as "in progress".
Safety: no approval step of its own described; Madgicx recommends setting write tools to "Needs approval" in Claude.
Price: the Pro Complete plan says "See price inside the app". 7-day free trial.
Best for: existing Madgicx users.
5. AdKit#
What it does: MCP and CLI for seven platforms. Works in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and more.
Safety: every agent change is a draft by default, waiting in the AdKit dashboard for approval. No undo info found.
Price: $29/mo (one project, one account per platform) or $49/mo (unlimited projects). Claims "6,000+ users".
Note: the cheaper plan is one account per platform, so an agency lands on the higher tier.
6. Markifact#
What it does: hosted MCP and AI agents for 50+ marketing platforms.
Safety: "nothing goes live without your approval". Run log kept 7 days on Pro, 30 days on Team.
Price: Pro $79/mo (1 seat), Team $249/mo (white-label), Managed custom. Credit-based.
Head-to-head: Markifact alternative.
7. Adspirer#
What it does: MCP for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and others across six ad platforms.
Safety: "You approve what goes live", new campaigns paused, every change logged. No undo info found.
Price: Free (15 tasks/mo), Plus $40, Pro $83, Max $167/mo, agency on request. Max allows 5 active accounts per platform.
8. Ryze AI#
What it does: a paid ads platform with an MCP connector for Claude and ChatGPT, plus SEO and CRO modules.
Safety: "approval controls on every change" on every plan, per the pricing page.
Price: Paid Ads $89/mo, Agency $279/mo (unlimited client workspaces, white-label). Claims "2,000+" clients.
Head-to-head: Ryze AI alternative.
When to choose AdSparky#
- Your clients run Meta and Google. One conversation, both platforms: "where did cost per lead go up this week, Meta or Google?" The official Meta server and Madgicx's MCP are Meta only.
- You want approval built into the tool, not just a client setting. "Ask before using" in Claude is a good start, but it doesn't show you before/after or give you undo. AdSparky does both on every change.
- Deleting a client's campaign should be impossible. Meta's official server can set DELETED. AdSparky only pauses.
- You need hard per-client limits today. Meta's server rules are in limited availability. AdSparky's client limits work for every client, and the AI can only tighten them.
- You manage many accounts. The morning review across all clients is where it really earns its keep - you see what's burning before you open a single Ads Manager tab.
- The assistant should remember the client. "No ads to students", "only phone calls count as leads" - saved once, applied every time.
- You report to clients. PDF reports and a change log showing who changed what, when and why.
- You're in Europe. EU hosting, encrypted keys, no training on your data.
- You want to start free. Free beta, no card, no credits.

When to choose something else#
- One or two Meta accounts and you're fine setting tool permissions yourself: Meta's official MCP.
- You need TikTok, LinkedIn, Snap or Reddit next to Meta: Pipeboard, AdKit, Markifact, Adspirer or Ryze.
- You already pay for Madgicx: its MCP is the natural add-on.
How to choose a Meta Ads MCP#
How many accounts? With one or two, the official server or a free plan is plenty. With a dozen, you need a cross-client view and memory per client.
Google Ads too? Pick a tool with both so you compare platforms in one place. The Google list is here: best MCP server for Google Ads.
Who approves changes? Check whether approval lives in the tool (draft, queue, preview) or only in your AI client's settings. And ask whether it can delete. A paused campaign comes back with its history; a deleted one doesn't.
FAQ#
Is the official Meta Ads MCP free?#
I found no pricing or fee information on Meta's pages (as of October 30, 2026). You do need an AI client that supports custom MCP servers, and some Claude and ChatGPT plans limit those.
Can AI delete my Facebook campaign?#
Depends on the tool. Meta's official server can set DELETED status (with a warning that it's permanent). AdSparky never deletes, it only pauses. For other tools, read the tool list and set write tools to require approval in your AI client.
Is AdSparky better than the official Meta MCP for agencies?#
For multi-client agency work, it's built for exactly that: Google next to Meta, a review across all clients, per-client limits, client memory and a change log with undo, none of which I found in Meta's docs. Meta's server also covers catalogs, signals and lift studies.
Can I run two Meta MCP servers at once?#
Technically yes. On client accounts I wouldn't: the assistant may pick the wrong server, and changes from one won't show up in the other's history.
